16 October 2006 - How to keep a bog wet Peat bogs are carbon sinks, which, when they dry in hot weather, release masses of carbon. Weardale is the project area that will have drainage ditches refilled to prevent drying. If successful the scheme will be expanded. BBC News

8 October 2006 - Ofgem supports microgeneration Ofgem is asking energy firms to supply information on how to install wind turbines and solar panels. They also want all home suppliers of power to be paid for the surplus electricity that the put back into the grid.
6 October 2006 - Difficulties caused by grant schemes The break between the Clear Skies initiative ending in February this year, and the Low Carbon Buildings scheme that started in April has caused problems for both consumers and providers of renewable energy. More disruption is expected. BBC News
2 October 2006 - Carbon neutral with the Co-op The Co-op firm TravelCare is the first high street firm to offer passengers a way to offset their carbon emissions when travelling by contributing to overseas renewable schemes. BBC News
